We refer to the article appearing in The Star, StarBiz page 2, on Wednesday, 11 January 2012, with regard to the above matter, in particular the following statements which are reproduced below:- "As the race for a stake in Proton Holdings Bhd heats up, a dark horse may appear in the form of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd (TCM), which apparently is in the midst of drawing up a proposal to bid for the national carmaker. ............. TCM could soon be joining the race to acquire Khazanah Nasional Bhd’s stake in Proton. ……….. TCM has been invited to submit a bid and it is in the midst of drawing up a proposal." The Board of Directors of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad ("TCMH") wishes to inform that TCMH has neither received any formal invitation nor has any plan to bid for the stake in the national carmaker, Proton Holdings Berhad. |
